A Wisconsin man is recovering from injuries after a weekend logging accident in Ironwood Township. The Goegbic County Sheriff’s Department says it happened at about 11 a.m. Central time Sunday. 24-year-old Kory Ofstad of Saxon, Wisconsin was working near the intersection of Lake Road and Upper Powers Road when a portion of a falling tree hit him. A co-worker heard him yelling for help and called 911 from a nearby house because cell service was unavailable. Officers, co-workers, area residents and paramedics brought Ofstad out of the forest so that an off-road rescue ATV could transfer him to an ambulance. The ambulance drove him to Grand View Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
