Local U.P. Basketball Team Fundraiser

A local U.P. girls basketball travel team called the Western Wild has qualified for the national tournament in Gainesville Florida taking place from June 26th to the 29th. They recently competed in the USSSA state tournament in Mt Pleasent and placed third. They are currently ranked #1 in the state and #8 in the nation. The team is composed of girls from the western Upper Peninsula. They will be raising money by pumping gas and selling baked goods at the Pines gas station in Baraga from 5 o’clock until 8. Donations to support the team may also be dropped off at Gemignani’s restaurant in Hancock.
