Worker Killed In Industrial Accident

One person is dead following an industrial accident in Iron Mountain.

The Michigan State Police says the accident happened Thursday at Minerick Logging shortly before 11am in Sagola Township in Dickinson County.

When troopers arrived on scene, it was determined that the accident happened while an employee was doing routine maintenance work on a vehicle.

STAR ambulance was already on the scene providing medical care and paramedics requested an immediate air medivac from the scene.

M-95 was temporarily closed and a landing zone was established for Valley Med Flight to land.

Despite all attempts by medical personnel, the victim did not survive the injuries.
