First impressions can often be the difference between landing that great new job or getting passed over. One of the first things a perspective employer will notice is how you’re dressed–and that includes company representatives at a career fair.
Michigan Tech is collecting gently worn women’s business clothing for their semi-annual Free Sale to help female students dress for success. The clothing and accessories must be in gently used, clean condition and appropriate for wearing to an interview. Your items will be available to all Michigan Tech students at no cost.
In addition to women’s clothing, men’s clothing will be accepted this year but as of yet, there is a need for storage space and volunteers so no event to give these clothes away is planned. Students interested in men’s clothing can make an appointment with Susie Amato-Henderson (slamato@mtu.edu) to search for clothing at any time during regular business hours.
Clothing may be dropped off at any of the following locations:
- The JRVP Library Help Desk or room 219
- Business School, Academic Office Building, 128
- Dillman, 108A
- Meese Center, 107
- Lakeshore Center, 320 A1
Or, boxed clothing can be mailed to:
Susie Amato-Henderson
Department of Cognitive and Learning Sciences
1400 Townsend Drive
Houghton, MI 49931
The next free sale will be held this Saturday from 11am-3pm at the Meese Center on Houghton Avenue, just off Michigan Tech’s main campus.
