Woman In Dumpster Died Accidentally

The identity and cause of death for a body found in a dumpster in Iron Mountain have been released.  The Iron Mountain Police Department says the body of 59-year-old Shelley Bowman was found Tuesday morning.

Police say Bowman died accidentally after entering the dumpster on her own to select items she wanted to repurpose.  While doing this, she slipped and fell head first into an open area within the garbage.  The open area was approximately five feet deep and inside dumpster.

Preliminary cause of death pending toxicology results has been determined to be accidental, positional asphyxiation.  No further information is being released at this time.
