Blood supplies are critically low across the Upper Peninsula, but Copper Country residents have a chance to help alleviate the problem today.
The U.P. Regional Blood Center has scheduled a blood drive at U.P. Health System-Portage in Hancock between 11:00 and 2:00.
Most people aged 16 and older can donate, and a single donation can save as many as three lives.
To set an appointment, call 449-1450. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Donations can also be made by appointment during business hours at the Regional Blood Center office in Hancock.
