A 40-year-old Wisconsin man is in the Houghton County jail after his arrest Tuesday on a drug charge.
Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies took the man into custody after a traffic stop at midnight Monday. After a brief investigation, officers located and seized a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine and components of narcotics distribution.
The suspect was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine, which is a 20-year felony. Charges also include driving with a suspended license, a 90 day misdemeanor.
The Houghton City Police Department, the Hancock City Police Department, and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team West assisted in the investigation.
