Volunteers Needed To Join Houghton/Keweenaw Communities That Care Coalition

If you’re interested in getting involved in the Houghton/Keweenaw Communities That Care Coalition, you’re invited to join their Community Board.

The goal of the CTC is to bring together community members to work on reducing rates of youth issues such as substance abuse, delinquency and more.

They will be hosting the first of a two-part training workshop at the Shelden Grill in Houghton August 19th from 10am to 4pm.

The second will be on August 26th at the same location.

After training, volunteers only need to commit one to three hours per month to the CTC.

Coordinator Ginny Machiela says that time is really an investment into the community.
