Volunteers Needed for Keweenaw Brewfest Fundraiser

Brewfest TokensHoughton, Michigan—Keweenaw Community Foundation (KCF) is currently looking for volunteers for this year’s Keweenaw Brewfest annual fundraiser. It will be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2016, from 1-5 PM at the Kestner Waterfront Park (Chutes & Ladders) in Houghton.

KCF currently needs volunteers to help with setup on Friday, August 26th, as well as help with setup, gatekeeping, ticket taking, serving, and take down on the 27th.  Ideally, volunteers will serve in two to four hour shifts. All volunteers must be 21or older. Tickets for Keweenaw Brewfest are now available to purchase at the KCF office (236 Quincy St., Hancock), online (www.keweenawgives.org), or at the Keweenaw Brewing Company tap room (408 Shelden Ave, Houghton).Tickets are $30 if purchased before the event or $40 day of. A ticket will get the recipient a commemorative six ounce glass and 12 drink tokens.

There will 52 different breweries represented with a total of over 200 different beers, hard ciders, and hard sodas available. Bob Hiltunen will be playing music at the event, and there will be food from vendors, including Carmelitas, The Fitz, and Vollwerth’s, for purchase. Attendees must be 21 to enter (ID required).

All proceeds raised during the event will go towards promoting KCF’s mission to inspire giving that invests in our community’s quality of life. The money will also help maintain and support KCF’s 80+ fund partners and endowments. KCF is amazed at the level of giving that occurs in the area, and they could not function without the community’s generosity.
