Volunteer Resource & Donation Center Closes

The Houghton County Volunteer Resource and Donation Center located at the former JC Penney Store, which was opened in response to the Fathers Day Flood, is now closed and the goods that were housed there have been distributed to local charities.

If any flood victims are in need of bottled water or cleaning supplies, they can contact the Salvation Army at (906) 482-3420 during their normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Residents needing bottled water can also check with their local fire departments. Flood victims needing other assistance are encouraged to contact local charities.
