Volunteer Orientation At Little Brothers Wednesday

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly may be best known for serving their free holiday dinners to area seniors who would otherwise be alone on the holiday, but they also provide services to their elderly friends throughout the year.  They help provide medical transportation and firewood to heat people’s homes, in addition to hosting social events.

Their year-long operation is made possible by those who volunteer their time. Executive Director Cathy Aten says many of those who volunteer for Little Brothers decide to stay.  “We actually do have a core of volunteers that have been with us since the very beginning and that’s remarkable. I mean I think that says so much about Little Brothers and these are volunteers whose children now are the next generation who are very involved as well,” said Aten.

There are many ways to volunteer for people of all ages and experience.  Little Brothers is holding a volunteer orientation this Wednesday at 6pm at their office in Hancock.
