Visit Keweenaw Seeks Destination Development Grant Applicants

Visit Keweenaw is seeking applicants for its 2023 Destination Development Grant Program.

Grants of up to $20,000 are available for projects that improve the ability of communities in Houghton and Keweenaw County to attract tourists, and enhance the experience of visitors during their stays.

The awards are open to governmental and nonprofit entities. 

Recent grants include $10,000 awarded to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club to make energy-efficient improvements to its existing groomer barn while financially assisting the construction of a new barn. $2,800 was awarded to Chassell Township for wayfinding and historic interpretive signs. $2,300 was awarded before to Calumet Township for new fat tire bike trail grooming equipment.
