Vetoed Funding Restored

Michigan State Senator Ed McBroom announced the senate has passed legislation to restore hundreds of millions of dollars in funding, which was vetoed by Governor Whitmer last year.

In addition to allowing Northern Michigan University to begin renovating the school’s Jacobetti Complex and restoring the state’s tourism campaign Pure Michigan, the legislation also includes funding for battling the COVID-19 outbreak and erosion along Michigan’s coastline.

Senator McBroom said this, regarding the legislation “This bill will help keep programs running that are helping people find jobs, maintain our infrastructure and environment and ensure the public’s health.”

State funding is needed, to receive much needed matching federal funds.
