Veterans Day Community Activities Limited by COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has wiped out most of the traditional Veterans Day activities in the Copper Country.

To our knowledge, none of the community tributes that are typically organized at local schools are being held.

There are a couple of events on the schedule, though.

The Baraga School District will serve free “grab-and-go” breakfasts for veterans this morning between 9:00 and 10:30. The breakfasts can be picked up at the Baraga Fire Department.

Calumet High School ROTC students will serve 300 free roast beef dinners this evening. Veterans and their spouses can pick the meals up between 5:00 and 7:00 at the Calumet National Guard Readiness Center, on a first-come, first-served basis.
