US-41 Road Project Begins Next Week

Work road, not related to flood damage repair, is set to begin Thursday, June 28 in Baraga County.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $3 million to mill and resurface about 7 miles of US-41 from Old US-41 north to the Houghton County line.

This work will require traffic shifts, temporary narrow lanes and periodic flag control.  This project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway.

The project is covered by a five-year pavement warranty.  It is scheduled to be completed by late August.
