In an effort to better serve the Upper Peninsula, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has appointed Assistant Attorney General Jessica Pelto to Marquette’s Satellite office.
It has been over a decade, since the U.P. last had an assistant attorney general stationed here.
Nessel said “U.P. residents often feel neglected by Lansing, by establishing an assistant attorney general presence in Marquette, I want to assure Yoopers there voices are being heard by my office.”
Pelto, a Rapid River High School grad, attended Northern Michigan University, and earned her law degree from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing.
Pelto said she is excited to be in this new role as assistant AG, and that she looks forward to helping the people of the state, especially those of the Upper Peninsula.
