UPHS-Portage Hosts Health Fair

UP Health System Portage is hosting a free health and safety fair this afternoon.

All are invited to visit the Hancock Campus between 4 and 7.

The hospital will offer health screenings, tours of the operating room, close up looks at ambulances, fire trucks and police cars, blood typing, diabetic foot checks, and healthy food samples. Kids can enjoy face painting, and bring a stuffed animal from home for a check-up at the Teddy Bear Boo Boo clinic. Free child bike helmets and proper fitting will be available.

Unused and unneeded prescription drugs may also be turned in for safe disposal.

Several community organizations will also be set up, including UP Kids, Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center, and Copper Country Mental Health.

There is no charge, and no advance registration is required.
