UP Health System-Portage has received an “A” grade for patient safety from a national organization.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade scores hospitals on their overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. The scores are based on data reported voluntarily by the hospitals.
It’s the third straight year UP Health System-Portage has received the top grade.
UP Health System-Marquette received a “B.”
UP Health System-Bell did not receive a rating, nor did Aspirus Keweenaw or Baraga County Memorial Hospital. Leapfrog’s website says hospitals missing from its ratings may be too small to produce a reliable dataset, or may have chosen not to submit data.
