Michigan’s updated State Forest road map is scheduled to be released today.
Maps are revised each year based on changing road conditions, new data, and input received from users and residents. They show which state forest roads are open or closed to both off-road and conventional vehicle use.
In the Upper Peninsula this summer, more than 5,503 miles – about 98% of the total mileage – will be open to ORV riders. Officials emphasize the importance of staying on the roadways, to prevent erosion and damage to wildlife habitat.
Maps are available in an interactive web format and as printable PDFs. Click here to access them online.
