The Upper Peninsula Energy Task Force will meet in Hancock today.
The task force was formed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to assess energy needs in the U.P., and propose solutions.
The meeting will be held at the Jutila Center in Hancock. Sessions will run from 10:00 until 1:00, and 2:30 until 4:30. Both sessions are open to the public, with the afternoon session dedicated to hearing comments from the public.

Local residents serving on the task force include Camps, the owner of Blue Terra Energy; Roman Sidortsov, an assistant professor of energy at Michigan Technological University, and Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Council President Warren “Chris” Swartz, Jr.

The Task Force’s goal is to finalize recommendations on propane by March 31st, 2020, with full results on all energy sources by March 31st, 2021.
