UP Companies Awarded Rebates To Help Cut Energy Costs

Three small manufacturing companies from the Upper Peninsula are receiving rebates from the Michigan Energy Office, which is now part of the new Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).

The rebates are part of its Small Manufacturers Energy Waste Reduction Incentive Pilot program to help these small manufacturers cut their energy use and lower their costs, making them more competitive.

$15,000 was awarded to Great Lakes Sound & Vibration in Houghton for high efficiency furnaces and air conditioners.

Electric Brewing Supply in Chassell was awarded $3,600 for building insulation, and Energy Star windows and doors.

Over $2,300 is going to Delta Wheel Truing Solutions in Escanaba for HVAC improvements.

To date, six rebates totaling $50,500 have been awarded under the Small Manufacturers Energy Waste Reduction Incentive Pilot program, which is now available to small manufacturers statewide through July 31st.
