The U.S. Coast Guard Station Portage will be hosting an open house for the public to come find out what they do and who they are.
The open house will be held this Saturday, July 20th, from 10am to 3pm at the Coast Guard station in Dollar Bay (22911 Chippewa Trail, Dollar Bay, MI 49922).
The public will be given tours of the Station and Boats and there will be Coast Guard personnel available to answer questions about boating safety, Coast Guard Operations, and provide information on joining the Coast Guard.
There will be activities and things to see for kids and adults.
Members of the Dollar Bay Volunteer Fire Department, Michigan DNR, Michigan State Police, Houghton County Sheriff, and Mercy EMS will also take part in the event with their emergency vehicles.
