U.P. Roadside Parks Closing Soon

Most roadside parks operated by the Michigan Department of Transportation in the Upper Peninsula will close for the season on Monday, Oct. 31, but two will close early for facility upgrades.

Cunard Park on US-2, 2 miles west of Hermansville in Menominee County, and Cut River East Park on US-2, 26 miles west of St. Ignace in Mackinac County, will be closed for the season on Monday, Oct. 17, for the replacement of the vault toilet buildings.

All other roadside parks will close on Oct. 31 for the season.

MDOT maintains 32 roadside parks in the U.P.

They usually close in late October and reopen in mid- to late April.
