Two Snowmobilers Killed In Head-On Collision

Two snowmobilers are dead following a head-on collision in Alger County.

The Alger County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened shortly before 9:30 Monday night on Trail #8, about one mile north of Samuelson Road in Rock River Township.

The two snowmobilers struck each other head on and were ejected from their sleds.

Despite all efforts from first responders, both operators were pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending proper notifications.

Excessive speed is believed to be the cause of the crash which is still under investigation.

The Alger County Sheriff’s Office, Alger County EMS, Alger County Rescue 21, Rock River Fire Department, Rock First First Responders, and Valley Med Flight responded to the scene.
