Two Hurt in Twin Lakes Crash

Two people were injured in a two-truck head-on crash in Twin Lakes yesterday morning.

Houghton County sheriff’s deputies were called to M-26 in front of the Four Seasons Convenience Store at 9:25.

They determined that the driver of a southbound pickup truck swerved into the opposite traffic lane to avoid a vehicle pulling out of the store parking lot. That truck struck an oncoming pickup head-on.

Two people were taken by ambulance to UP Health System-Portage for treatment of injuries. Their names and the severity of their injuries have not been released.

Deputies are looking for the driver of a black SUV that left the scene, citing the need to travel to Wausau for an appointment. If that’s you, or you know who that is, contact the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department.
