Two Hurt in Dollar Bay Crash

Two people were injured yesterday afternoon in a crash between a car and a pickup truck near Dollar Bay.

State Police troopers were called to M-26 near the Coal Dock Road intersection shortly after 1:00.

They report that the eastbound car apparently crossed into the westbound lane. It collided with the westbound pickup, which was pulling a boat on a trailer. Both vehicles were badly damaged.

The boat tumbled off the trailer, and landed on Coal Dock Road.

The driver and passenger in the car were taken to U.P. Health System-Portage. Their condition has not been released. The pickup driver was not hurt.

An investigation continues, and troopers tell us they’ll release the names of those involved after they’ve gathered more information.

M-26 was closed while the vehicles were removed.
