Two Baraga County Residents Arrested For Drugs

On March 15, 2018 detectives assigned to the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) executed a search warrant at a residence on Puuri Rd in Baraga County.

The homeowners, a 34 year old male and 34 year old female, were arrested on March 14, 2018 for operating under the influence of drugs and possession of methamphetamine in Mackinaw County by troopers from the Michigan State Police St. Ignace Post.

Detectives assigned to UPSET obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and seized several more grams of methamphetamine, as well as scales, packaging for distribution, and a firearm.

The suspects are currently lodged in Mackinaw County Jail and charges in Baraga County are pending review by the Baraga County prosecutor’s office.

Detectives were assisted by the Michigan State Police and Baraga County Sheriff’s Department.
