Truck Raffle Tickets Still On Sale

Tickets are still on sale for the Keweenaw Truck Raffle being put on by North Woods Conservancy.

The grand prize is a 2018 Chevy Silverado LTZ Z-71, four door, 4×4, Midnight Edition.

They are only selling 1,000 tickets at $145 each with the proceeds going to support their effort to preserve the Keweenaw’s natural areas.

Volunteer President John Griffin says they are seeing some people buy a lot more than just one ticket.  “A regular ticket that you would get for like Mega Millions or Powerball, the odds are about 1 in 292 million,” he said.  “So you have a 1 in a 1000 chance if you buy one ticket. We’ve had several people buy 10 tickets, which is the maximum that we allow you to buy. So they have a 1 in 100 chance for winning this truck for $1,450, which is less than two of the payments that would last seven years so we still think it’s a great deal.”

The drawing will take place at 1pm on Labor Day, September 3rd.

Tickets are available at:

*Ahmeek Streetcar Station (NWC Nature Center and Ice Cream Window)
*Bonfire Steakhouse (7th Floor of the Magnuson/ Franklin Square Inn in Houghton)
*Superior Travel (the Travel Leaders Agency in Houghton, on the “high road” southbound 41/E Montezuma Ave)
