Ghosts and goblins will be out tonight for Halloween and police departments are reminding residents to stay safe.
Official Trick-or-Treat hours in Baraga is 4:00pm to 7:00pm, in Hancock, they’re 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Houghton is 5:00pm to 8:00pm, L’Anse, 5:00pm to 7:30pm and in Laurium, 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
You can check with your local village or township office if your’re unsure of the Trick-or-Treating hours in your neighborhood.
Some safety reminders for parents: Pick out a costume that is fire resistant; masks should have eyeholes large enough to see all around, not just right in front of your child; at least one adult should be with a group of children who are going to trick-or-treat; Watch out for cars and remind your children to never go into a home of a stranger or get into their car.
If you’re looking for a little extra scare in your Halloween, the Calumet High School Drama Club will once again be putting on the Haunted Arena tonight at the George Gipp Arena in Laurium.
A mild version will be offered from 5:00 until 7:30, and a scarier version from 7:30 until 10:00.
Ticket prices are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students.
You can save a dollar if you contribute a nonperishable food item.
