Tree House, A.E. Seaman Museum Reopen

Ever so cautiously, the Copper Country continues to reopen.

The Tree House Indoor Playground in Houghton resumed operations yesterday. The Tree House offers activities exclusively for children through four years of age. Iola Brubaker from the Keweenaw Family Resource Center says there are restrictions…

Only 15 people can occupy the Tree House at any one time.

The KFRC’s Playtime in the Park series begins tomorrow. The weekly programs will be held at different parks each week, with sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning at 10:00.

Activities are designed for children through age four, although older siblings are also welcome. Families are asked to attend only one session per week. Again, caution is the watchword…

Snacks and activities will be provided.

You can see the schedules for the Tree House and for Playtime in the Park here.

The A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum at Michigan Tech has also re-opened.

Director John Jaszczak says they’re requiring masks, social distancing and hand sanitizing, but he doesn’t think that will limit visitors’ enjoyment of the museum…

Most of next week’s Keweenaw Mineral Days activities will proceed as planned…

Jaszczak says those events are close to being full. If you’d like to register, or learn more, click here.
