Plans are underway for an addition at the Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College.
The addition includes an industrial vocational education center that will serve local high school and college students.
The center will house the building trades, welding booths, automotive technology and industrial manufacturing programs.
The total cost of the facility will be about $950,000, with the Department of Education providing a grant for $500,000.
The project will be completed in two phases with bids going out in early January.
Work on the site is expected to begin in April 2018.
