The Tigers fell to the Twins 4-1 yesterday. Tyler Alexander turned in an effective start, giving up two runs over five innings, but took the loss. Detroit’s only run came on a Riley Green single in the fifth.

The Tigers entertain the Rays tonight. Drew Hutchison will start against Jeffrey Springs. Because of our broadcast of the NFL Hall of Fame Game tonight on 99.3 The Lift, Tigers coverage will begin at 6:50 on KBear 102.3.

New Twins hurler Michael Fulmer got his first chance to pitch against his former team yesterday. He tossed a scoreless sixth inning.

Add another Detroit starter to the injured list. Tarik Skubal will miss time with arm fatigue. Wily Peralta was activated off the injured list to fill the roster spot for now. Bryan Garcia is expected to be brought up from Toledo to cover Skubal’s scheduled start tomorrow.

Detroit manager A.J. Hinch also indicated yesterday that designated hitter Miguel Cabrera could miss some time. He’s dealing with pain from his chronic bad knees.

The Tigers also called up outfielder Daz Cameron from Triple-A Toledo yesterday, and sent infielder Zack Short back to the Mud Hens.

The Brewers dropped an 8-7 seesaw game to the Pirates last night. Milwaukee took an early lead, with four runs over the first two innings. Pittsburgh responded with seven runs through the middle innings. Three runs by the Crew tied it in the eighth, but a solo home run by Bryan Reynolds off Devin Williams ended the game in the bottom of the ninth.

The Brewers play in Pittsburgh again this afternoon. Brandon Woodruff will start against Zach Thompson.

Before yesterday’s game, Milwaukee brought Keston Hiura back up from Nashville. Catcher Pedro Severino was designated for assignment. The Brewers also designated pitcher Dinelson Lamet for assignment, just two days after obtaining him from the Padres in the Josh Hader trade. President of baseball operations David Stearns said they hope he’ll clear waivers, and elect to remain with the team.
