Twilight League Baseball

In Copper Country Twilight League baseball last night…
• Houghton Building Supply-Stanton v REL-Mohawk Technology – postponed.
• Garnet Garage v Northern Driveline – postponed.

Tomorrow’s game between Craig Heinonen Coldwell Banker and Northern Driveline has been moved up, and will be played tonight at the Stanton Field.

Slow Pitch Softball

In Copper Country Slow Pitch Softball League play this evening…
• At Miller Memorial Field in Laurium, Bucko’s/Labatts faces Auto Pro/Thermoanalytics at 6:15, then plays Amy J’s at 7:30.
• At the Driving Park, McGann’s/Northern Auto takes on Sayen’s Auto/Coca Cola at 6:15, and then plays Downtowner Two at  7:30.

Fast Pitch Softball

In Copper Country Fast Pitch Softball League action tonight…
• At the Bone Yard, Superior National Bank plays JB’s at 5:30. Superior Service plays REL at 7:15.
• At the Chassell Field, Northern Michigan Land Brokers takes on Tervo Agency at 7:00.

MLB

The resurgent Tigers ripped the Guardians 11-4 last night. Drew Hutchison got the win, giving up two runs over five innings. Eric Haase homered. Miguel Cabrera and Victor Reyes each had three hits. Cabrera scored twice, and Reyes and Riley Greene each drove in three runs.

The Tigers visit the Guardians again this afternoon. Michael Pineda will pitch against Shane Bieber. Coverage will begin at 12:50 on 99.3 The Lift. 

The Brewers couldn’t hold an early lead, and lost to the Cubs 8-3 last evening. Rowdy Tellez’ two-run homer in the first inning provided a promising start, but the Crew couldn’t plate another run until the ninth inning. Chicago scored one in the fourth, then piled on three in the fifth, and four in the sixth. Jason Alexander took the loss.

The Brewers entertain the Cubs again this afternoon. Corbin Burnes will pitch against Adrian Sampson.
