Houghton County has three new confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department.

Beer stated that despite some of the cases in the Western U.P. being travel related, it is in the community as well, and that we must continue to follow CDC guidelines, wash hands frequently and practice social distancing.
Residents are urged to get tested, if they show any symptoms, including fever, shortness of breath and coughing more than usual.
With the new cases, the Western U.P. has 14 confirmed cases, three out of state cases, with one death.
