The City Of Hancock Adds Precautionary Measures

The City of Hancock has taken more precautions designed to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Effective immediately, all non-essential board and committee meetings are cancelled until further notice, while city council meetings will be held remotely.

The garbage pickup schedule remains the same.

You can pick up city garbage bags at Pat’s IGA, Holiday, Risto’s Keweenaw Co-op and Krist Oil.

City offices remain staffed, but closed to the public for non-essential issues.

The Police Department has suspended all fingerprinting and preliminary breath tests until further notice.

The Department of Public Works will no longer read indoor water meters, nor will they install any water meters, unless it’s an emergency situation.

Transit services are limited to medical appointments and trips to the grocery store and pharmacy.

For paying utility bills, paying online or using drop boxes is strongly encouraged.

The city’s Fire Department remains fully operational.
