Suspect From Lake Linden Drug Bust Stands Mute

One of the suspects in a recent drug bust in Houghton County made his first appearance in Circuit Court Monday.

25-year-old Breon Garner of Detroit stood mute to a charge of Delivery or Manufacture of Heroin, a 20 year felony.

A Not Guilty plea was entered by the court on his behalf.

Garner was arrested following the execution of search warrant by UPSET Detectives last month at a residence in Lake Linden.

Heroin, cash from suspected drug sales and a loaded shotgun were seized during the search.

A motion by Garner’s attorney to reduce the $250,000 cash bond was denied by the court.

A pretrial conference will take place in about 30 days with a trial to be put on the court’s calendar within the next six months.

Nelson, Willie

48-year-old Willie Nelson of Lake Linden was also arrested and charged with Maintaining a Drug House and Possession of a Firearm During A Felony, both punishable by up to two years.

Nelson waived his arraignment and will have a pretrial on May 15th.
