Supernova Yoga Open In Calumet

Christina Hermann began practicing yoga years ago as part of her active lifestyle. She deepened her practice after a debilitating shoulder injury, and she even credits yoga for her recovery.

Hermann said inspired her to get certified and begin teaching.

“I’m here to say it’s a very powerful healing modality. I wanted to share my own experience and it’s power to really heal and transform people by opening a studio and contributing to the community in Calumet and the Keweenaw more generally,” said Owner of Supernova Yoga Christina Hermann.

Her studio, Supernova Yoga, Gallery and Gifts, is nestled in Historic downtown Calumet.

The front section serves as an art gallery, where Hermann displays work from local artists and participates in Calumet Art District’s First Fridays.

The gallery opened for the CopperDog 150 in March and has recently transitioned into offering yoga classes. Hermann said there are a variety of classes for all fitness levels.

Hermann said ” Yoga is for everybody, it doesn’t matter where you start. Yoga meets you exactly where you are, so it’s for all fitness levels. No one needs to think that they can’t practice yoga.”

More information and a class schedule can be found on their website at dosupernovayoga.com.
