Suicide Prevention Trainer Needed

Baraga County CTC as part of the Upper Peninsula Coalition Network has received a grant to fund the training of one person in Baraga County to be certified as a QPR trainer.

QPR stand for Question Persuade Refer and is a 3 step process that anyone can learn to help prevent suicide.

Once trained, in order to fulfill the grant, the training will need to be offered at least once a month for 10 months in Baraga County.

The trainings will be available between this November and September of next year, are about 1 – 1.5 hours long and will be offered anywhere that is interested in hosting.

“The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. The signs of crisis are all around us. We believe that quality education empowers all people, regardless of their background, to make a positive difference in the life of someone they know.” – https://qprinstitute.com/

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming the QPR trainer, contact Baraga County Communities That Care at baragacountyctc@gmail.com or 906-201-4024.
