More than 900 Michigan Tech students met Wednesday with employers from across the country to discuss employment opportunities and internships.
MTU hosted its Fall Career Fair, offering students the chance to pass out resumes and introduce themselves to 340 companies.
University Career Director Kirsti Arko says that these companies are looking to hire students majoring in a wide variety of fields.
Arko said, “These companies are looking for students in science, technology, engineering, and math. There’s a lot of opportunities—full time, co-ops, and internships.”
Arko also says that students and faculty have been preparing for this event for four weeks as part of the school’s Careerfest, a program covering resume building and interviewing techniques.
“The recruiters who come here today–it takes a lot of work to get all the way up to Houghton, Michigan, but they’re willing to do it to meet as many Michigan Tech students as possible.”
MTU hosts two career fairs annually.
