Students Arriving at MTU, Finlandia

New students are arriving at Michigan Tech.

To avoid crowds that could spread the novel coronavirus, students have been assigned check-in times at the dorms this afternoon and tomorrow.

Tech staff members and volunteers will assist new students in moving their possessions into their dorm rooms.

The four-day new student orientation program begins Sunday.

Finlandia University students are also arriving on campus. Classes begin on Monday.

Both Tech and Finlandia have put extensive COVID-19 plans in place to protect students and the community from potential spread of the virus.

Classes at Gogebic Community College also start on Monday. Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College classes don’t begin until September 8th.
