Student Day At Downtown Houghton Farmers Market

This year, the Downtown Houghton Farmer’s Market is hosting a Student Day at the Market on Tuesday, September 12th from 3p -6p.

This event is intended to welcome back the students to the community and get the engaged in the farmer’s market!

Because of the generous sponsorship by the Michigan Tech Employees Federal Credit Union, the first 100 students to arrive at the market will receive a FREE $5 voucher to be used at the Houghton Farmer’s Market.

There will be different organizations present along with the local vendors. MSU Extension will be doing a food demo, ACT4HEALTH will be there talking about the work they do and handing out free totes, CrossFit Hakkapellitta will be there talking about their classes and offering great deals to those who attend the market, and Michigan Tech Student Health and Wellness will also be in attendance giving away totes and other goodies! PHAT-Pre Health at Tech and Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society will be in attendance as well. Along with the local farmers, vendors, and local organizations, Bob Hiltunen will be playing live at the event, so you won’t want to miss out!

Due to the construction, the Downtown Houghton Farmer’s Market is still on the parking deck behind Keweenaw Brewing Company and Swift True Value. This event is free to the public with lots of great vendors in attendance. Be sure to come hang out and snag some great local goodies!
