Stay Home Stay Safe Order Extended Through The End Of The Month

Governor Whitmer held a press conference yesterday afternoon, and she covered a lot of ground.

She named the Executive orders she has signed over the last few days.

She also discussed Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance System, which has been overwhelmed recently, due to the influx of claims.

She also extended her Stay Home Stay Safe Executive Order, originally signed on March 23rd, through April 30th.

She also restated the need for more personal protective equipment.

Chief Medical Officer Joneigh Khaldun said the extension of the Stay Home Stay Safe Order is an important step towards saving lives.

To date, Michigan has 21,504 confirmed cases, with 1.076 deaths.

Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has 44 confirmed cases, with 5 deaths.

Delta, Dickinson and Gogebic Counties, each have one death, while Marquette County has lost two lives from the virus.
