State Troopers from the Negaunee Post, were sent to rescue three swimmers, who were swept out in Lake Superior.
Yesterday afternoon, approximately 1pm, troopers responded, as three swimmers, a 38 year old male, an 11 year old male and 10 year old female, got caught in an undercurrent from Little Presque Isle.
A female beachgoer was able to swim out and meet them, while her boyfriend called 911.
She was able to get everyone together and started getting them back to shore.
Other beach goers met them in the water with life jackets and flotation devices.
The three swimmers made it back to shore, when EMS, the DNR, State Police, Coast Guard and Marquette Township Fire Department arrived.
The two children were medically cleared and returned to family members.
The 38 year old, was taken to UP Health System Marquette to be evaluated.
