State Parks Raise Seasonal Workers’ Wage

Summer employees at Michigan State Parks are getting a raise.

Faced with a worker shortage, the Department of Natural Resources has boosted the starting pay of its seasonal workers to $15 per hour. That’s a significant increase from the previous starting level, which was as low as $10.20 per hour, depending on the region of the state.

Seasonal workers already hired will also receive the boost, which takes effect this coming Sunday.
