Sons of American Legion to Organize in Hancock

An organizational meeting for the new Sons of the American Legion chapter in Hancock will be held Saturday.

Legion Post 186 is organizing the chapter. It’s open to all male descendants, including adopted sons and stepsons of members of the American Legion, and to male descendants of deceased veterans who would have been eligible for Legion membership.

Tomorrow’s meeting will include members of the local committee organizing the chapter, the Fifth District Sons of the American Legion Commander, and prospective members. It will start at 1 p.m. at the post home in Hancock.

Those wishing to join should submit an application and a check for $11 to Post 186 as quickly as possible. Those who join before the charter is submitted will be considered Charter members.

You’ll find a link to the application and additional information on the Post 186 Facebook Page.
