Snowmobiler Injured In Ontonagon

Illinois man is injured following a snowmobile accident in Ontonagon County Wednesday.

The Ontonagon Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the accident on Trail 12 near the Woodspur Rd. in Ontonagon township shortly before noon.

The driver of a 2009 Arctic Cat snowmobile, Michael Faucher of Lemont, Illinois was traveling on Trail 12 when he lost control negotiating a curve in the trail.

The driver was thrown from the snowmobile causing injuries to him and damage to his snowmobile.

The Ontonagon County Sheriffs Office along with Sonco ambulance personnel and the Michigan State Police rescued the driver from the trail and transported him to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital for treatment.

He was later transported to Aspirus Wausau hospital for further treatment.

Speed is considered a factor in the accident.
