Small Business Grant Applications Being Accepted

The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce, along with the Keweenaw Economic Development Association, are reminding small business owners in the Keweenaw, that grants of up to $20,000 can be applied for, through August 5th.

Approximately $4.5 million dollars is available to the UP, with 30% of that being offered to women, minority and veteran owned businesses.

Michigan’s Economic Development Corporation has set up a hotline, to answer questions, before you start your application.

Businesses applying for help must be able to demonstrate economic hardship, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

If awarded grant funding, the money can be used for rent, payroll or other expenses authorized under the CARES Act.

The MEDC Hotline to answer questions regarding your application is 888-522-0103.
