HANCOCK — The sidewalks in Hancock are a bit more “Finnteresting” this summer, and if you are an intrepid enough explorer, you just might win a prize.
As part of the Juhannus ’17 festival, slated for June 23-25 in the Copper Country, the Finnish American Heritage Center staff at Finlandia University has created and positioned decals at sites in the city to mark significant sites from Finnish-American history. In conjunction with these decals, folks are invited to take part in a trivia contest, where participants must correctly answer 12 questions to be eligible for a prize. All of the answers can be found on the decals.
The contest is now open; all trivia entries must be submitted on or before June 22. For an entry form, please visit the Daily Mining Gazette, Hancock City Hall, the Community Arts Center or the Finnish American Heritage Center. For further information about the contest, call the Heritage Center at 906-487-7549.
