Series Of Local Blood Drives Being Held This Month

The U.P. Regional Blood Center is experiencing a critical need for O-negative and A-negative blood types.

You can help by donating blood at their center in Hancock or by visiting one of their many upcoming blood drives in the area.

Companies, church groups and other organizations could use giving blood as a group activity or for giving back to the community.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell September 10, 9am – 12pm. For an appointment call Ken or Carol Simula at 482-5892.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at UP Health System-Portage in Hancock September 25, 11am – 2pm. For an appointment call Angela Luskin at 483-1153.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at River Valley Bank in Houghton September 27, 11am – 1pm. For an appointment call Angie Kolehmaninen at 483-2601.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at River Valley Bank in Calumet September 27, 3pm – 5pm. For an appointment, call Jamie Thyrion at 337-6901.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at Copper Country Mental Health Services in Houghton September 29, 10am – 2pm. For an appointment call Joe Freed at 482-9400.
