Sensory Sensitive Day Returns to Fair This Week

People who have aversions to bright lights and loud noises because of autism will have an opportunity to attend the Houghton County Fair in comfort again this year.

Sensory Sensitive Day will take place on Friday from 1 until 3. Fair board member Kathy Caspary says the bells and music will be silenced along the midway, the lights will be dimmed, and those on the autism scale will have a chance to enjoy the fair for free…

That’s through the Copper Country Autism Awareness Group. They have to go through that group in order to get their tickets.

Those who wish to participate in Sensory Sensitive Day must sign up with Copper Country Autism Awareness by the end of the day tomorrow. Call Jeannie LaBonte at 906-934-2606, or 906-231-9213, or email jeanlabonteper404@gmail.com.

The fair runs from Thursday through Sunday. See the full schedule here.
